EV charger

ExperimentalUpdated: 2026-10-25

What the system works out

You choose the charger power (3.7 / 7.4 / 11 / 22 kW), the mounting location (wall / post) and the cable length from the consumer unit. The system shows:

- the charger price by the selected model and power;

- the cable length and price (3 × 6 or 5 × 6 mm²);

- the circuit breaker and residual current protection (RCBO type B or A, 30 mA);

- the installation labour hours.

Power and phases

- 3.7 kW (single phase, 16 A) — the slowest, but enough for overnight charging (about 6 kWh/h with losses).

- 7.4 kW (single phase, 32 A) — suits most cars, but check whether the consumer unit can handle a 32 A circuit.

- 11 kW (three phase, 16 A) — the most popular home option, fast and does not overload the grid.

- 22 kW (three phase, 32 A) — requires a stronger supply, not all cars accept that much.

- The system warns if the chosen power exceeds the existing supply's permitted load.
