Masts for cameras, lighting and antennas

Camera and lighting poles
You enter the height, arm and number of cameras or floodlights. The system works out the pole, a concrete foundation with anchor bolts and the equipment, plus a video recorder for cameras. A thin pole up to 6 m often has K = S × H³ below 10. It is then not a simple structure, and no documents are needed (STR 1.01.03 item 30).
Camera field of view
For each camera the system calculates the field of view from the lens (2.8 mm — about 100°, 6 mm — about 52°) and the DORI distances: how far a person can be detected, observed, recognised and identified. The distances use the IEC 62676-4 pixel densities (25 / 62.5 / 125 / 250 px/m). This is a conservative estimate — manufacturers usually quote about a third more. The blind zone under the mast is also calculated, and at night vision is limited by the IR illumination.
If the camera sees beyond the plot boundary or the street, the household exemption no longer applies (CJEU C-212/13, EDPB guidelines 3/2019). The GDPR then applies, so a “CCTV in operation” sign is added to the estimate, and the system suggests turning the cameras or using privacy masks.
Lighting
Floodlights are aimed at your own plot. No light-pollution norm for private lighting was found, but in aerodrome zones lights must not dazzle pilots (Law on Special Land Use Conditions art. 16).
Antenna masts and guy wires
A telescopic mast taller than ~8 m is usually held by guy wires in three directions every 6 m of height. The system works out the rope, tensioners and anchors. Guy wires are not counted in K. A structural engineer must size the foundation, guys and wind load — the generator does not invent values.
Rules
- Up to 15 m it is a simple engineering structure by K: Group I up to 10,000, Group II up to 40,000 (STR 1.01.03 Annex 5 row 4.2).
- Taller than 15 m it is a non-special structure, and a building permit is needed everywhere. From 30 m it is special.
- Closer than 1 m to the boundary needs the neighbour's consent (STR 1.05.01 Annex 7 item 3). The system also warns if the mast would reach the neighbour's plot if it fell.
- In aerodrome zones A and B a mast of any height must be agreed, in zone C from 20 m. In a radar general zone all structures are agreed.
- Cameras that see the street or a neighbour fall under the GDPR: a sign and short retention are needed.
