Flower bed

ExperimentalUpdated: 2026-10-25

What the system works out

You enter the bed length, width and height, the edging material and the soil type. The system shows:

- the edging material quantity (boards, metal, masonry blocks) by perimeter and height;

- the soil mix volume by the bed's capacity;

- the drainage layer (gravel) volume under the soil;

- the mulch layer on top (bark or crushed stone).

Edging and soil

Popular options for a raised bed: pressure-treated boards (25 × 150 mm), corten steel (2 mm) or concrete edging. The system calculates material by perimeter and height, adding corner joints.

- Soil mix: compost, peat, sand (the ratio depends on the plant type). The system calculates the total volume.

- At the bottom — geotextile and 5 cm of gravel for drainage, so water does not pool.
